Answers:
Bay (2) It is the area usually described between columns. This is a great place to divide the building for offices, retail, residential as the walls between can hide most of the column if not all allowing an open area
Floor Plate (3) This is the entire floor of each floor of the building. Each floor may have a different floor plate. This is commonly seen in the higher floors of a building as the may get smaller or the first floor of a building where there is an open air entrance
Proud (3) This is used when a countertop juts out from teh depth of a cabinet. It is also used with other elements of architecture/interior design. The moulding is proud of the wall.
Zeitgeist (2) This is the mood or over all feeling/look of a period. Buildings and interiors show this quite prominently. You know when you seen a building built prior to 1900 or in 1920’s, 1950’s etc.
Dado (2) This is the wall below a dado line. The dado line can be at any height. Common ones are chair height and door and window height. At chair heigh a chair rail is placed on the dado line. At door and window height a picture rail is sometimes added. It also can mean a grove made in wood for joining two pieces. I actually called my Dad, Daddums a couple of times which he hated! So I stopped!
